Some of you may know that I have been working on an independent film for some time now. It is still in the final stages of completion but the viral marketing is about to kick into overdrive.
One by One: The Movie. Starring Rik Mayall (Blackadder, The Young Ones, Bottom)
and a hugely talented but relatively unknown cast, this is a British independent film I
have been closely involved with nearly since its inception. Directed by
first-time writer/director Diane Jessie Miller, it is a controversial drama about a group of people keen to get those
around them to open their eyes to new ways of seeing the world we live
in. It's brimming with thought and thoroughly researched ideas on the
state of the world and has engaging characters in a shocking and
thought-provoking narrative. Having worked on this for over two years
with some incredibly talented and dedicated people, I can't wait for the
film to be completed and to get a release so it can be seen on the big
screen. Watch the trailer below:
Funding is still needed to complete the film so if you feel like investing in a great project that a huge family of talented cast and crew have been sweating over for a long time now, here's the link to get involved: http://www.indiegogo.com/onebyone
The website for the film is here if you want to learn more about the project! http://www.onebyonethemovie.co.uk/
I got to see a preview of the film on 28th January this year and I was gobsmacked. It looks and sounds amazing and the performances are absolutely brilliant, none more so than the fantastic Heather Wilson who gives the film it's solid emotional core. It delivers a hard-hitting gut-punch of an ending and the director and many others are still working tirelessly to get the film perfect before they will take it to international film festivals next year.
Check out some of the websites and other projects of the incredibly talented crew below:
The hilarious and deeply odd web series Hand Island created by Ash Parker and several other key crew members on this film.
The man behind the score: Simon Norman a.k.a. Stoltz
And futhermore, here is a music video for Duane Lamont that many of the One by One crew members (including myself) were involved in. Want to know who filled that room with smoke at 0.40? Yes... me!
I will be eternally grateful if you could follow One By One on twitter, share the trailer on your blog or donate/invest through the link here.
Please feel free to let me know what you think of the trailer in the comments section below.

Best Sports Movie?
Interactivity... here we go. I don't watch many sports movies so it's over to you wonderful readers. I know I already blogged about this recently so I'm sorry if you already did this but one last time and for those of you new to this blog:
What's your favourite sports movie? Here's a list to get you thinking but please let me know what YOU think is the best sports movie of all time. I'm all ears! And please don't be scared to let me know why I must see your favourite.
I'm running out now but I'm sure there's plenty more to choose from. While you're here, may I also poke your brains with the following questions.
1. What makes a great sports movie?
2. Is the sports movie a genre itself or does it cross other genres too much e.g. drama and comedy?
3. Most unique sports movie?
4. Best character in a sports movie?
Thanks for your time and particiaption and sorry to everyone who already contributed last time I blogged about this. I promise this is the last time.

7 x 7 Award
Massive thanks to Scott from Front Room Cinema for bestowing me with this award!
1: Tell everyone something about yourself that nobody else knows
Keeping it movie related, I think the reason I first got into movies was when I got a small role in the film The Girl in a Swing at about the age of six. When I got onto that set, I realized that there was ‘behind-the-scenes’ of a film and was instantly and forever fascinated! Then, none of my scenes as Tom the vicar’s son were left in the film and my parents wouldn’t let me watch it anyway because it was so full of sex and nudity. Bummer.
2: Link to a post I think fits the following categories:
The Most Beautiful Piece:
I’m not sure I do 'beautiful' but my review of Life in a Day is a review of a beautiful film.
Most Helpful Piece:
I’d like to think my call to arms is quite useful for anyone who wants Lovefilm and Universal to sort out their dispute.
Most Popular Piece:
This one on the new series This is England 88 has by far the most hits but this one on my favourite films of the noughties has the most comments.
Most Controversial Piece:
Probably this one on my thoughts about superheroes or this one about movie critics.
Most Surprisingly Successful Piece:
I was surprised by how many people read, liked and got involved with this piece on ‘the cinema experience’.
Most Underrated Piece:
Well back in the wilderness days of this blog, I wrote about book to film adaptations which is a very big personal interest of mine. Not sure many read it so I guess that makes it underrated.
Most Pride-worthy Piece:
I very much enjoyed writing this piece about brilliant British films and feel like after the great year for Brit film that was 2011, it could do with an update!
3: Pass this on to 7 fellow bloggers:
Kristin at All Eyes on Screen
SDG at U, Me and Films
Asrap at Woah, This is Heavy!
Ruth at Flixchatter
My humble apologies if you've all done this already but I'm just trying to pass this on to 7 bloggers that are likely to read this and then might be able to continue the meme!

What should I watch next?
Dear Friends,
Which of the following of my Lovefilm Free to Stream list should I watch next?
Have I got my priorities right or is this the list of one mixed up individual?
Are there any films I need to see here before I watch anything else?
I defer to your good judgement friends! Please leave your comments in the usual place!
