The day I met new Star Wars star John Boyega

After the announcement that John Boyega is going to be a central character in Star Wars: Episode VII, it has taken me a whole day to realise/remember that I met Boyega at an Attack the Block screening and Q&A back in 2011. I chatted to him outside the screening and got some photos and I even remember saying to him and Alex Esmail that they were going to be big, big stars after this film. Obviously I had no idea how big Boyega is about to get!

I couldn't believe Attack the Block was not a massive hit so I'm pleased that at least Boyega is now going to be a mega-star in one of the biggest films of all time! Check out my pics:

Edgar Wright was also there!

Wish I'd had the guts to get a photo with him!

My mate Diane Jessie Miller is Gifted

I worked on an independent feature film called One by One a while back and now the writer/director Diane Jessie Miller has gone on to write and direct a web series called The Gifted.

Her talent and commitment continue to astound me. Check out the video below:

Bad Neighbours De Niro Party

I'm going to be seeing this film called Bad Neighbours just for Dave Franco's impersonation of Robert De Niro in Meet the Parents. I hope this is a good solid hour of the film but I reckon that might be optimistic. You violated the circle of trust Focker! Check out his little Jinxy. That looks like the best party in the world.

If this picture alone doesn't have you sniggering then check out the trailer. It's got a baby dressed as Heisenberg and eating 'blue meth', not to mention an unfortunate incident with a condom. Seth Rogen fans also might enjoy the stoner getting smacked around by misplaced airbags. The brilliant Rose Byrne is also in it so even if you can't stand Zac Efron, there must be something attractive about this film.

Call for TV news and reviews writers! Get Paid to Write!

Hello again! As the new TV Editor at Filmoria, I am looking to expand our team of dedicated TV writers. What we need is people who want to cover news and weekly episode reviews of some of the biggest shows on television as they hit screens in the UK. We already have writers covering episode reviews for Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Bates Motel but we always need more people to cover the latest news and to write features on all of these shows and more. Here is the full list of shows we need covering in terms of news, features and episode reviews:

Doctor Who
Hannibal
Downton Abbey
Homeland
Sherlock
True Detective
House of Cards
24: Live Another Day
Sleepy Hollow
Girls
Veep
Arrow
Vikings
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Sons of Anarchy
The Following
The Americans
American Horror Story
Boardwalk Empire
Elementary
Mad Men
From Dusk til Dawn
Person of Interest
Hemlock Grove
Fargo
Da Vinci’s Demons
Penny Dreadful
Under the Dome
Peaky Blinders
Broadchurch
The Good Wife
Parks and Recreation
Scandal
Gotham

Surely one of these must spark your interest. Did I mention that you will also get paid to write at Filmoria? There is a performance pay scheme that basically works out like this:

You will earn £0.05 per article that you write and publish for every 100 unique page visits, within the first 30 days of being published, with no upper limit threshold.
    • 1000 unique page views = £0.50
    • 10,000 unique page views = £5.00
    • 100,000 unique page views = £50.00
    • 100,000,000 unique page views = £500.00

It might not be much at the moment but as the site grows, we hope to see our page views and income rise. The more you write and the more our audience reads it, the more you earn! News stories should be around 400 words and features and reviews around 700 words.

If you are interested, please contact me on peter@filmoria.co.uk and send me a few links to your published work. Feel free to check out Filmoria and see what you think!
