Right you lovely movie lovers! By now you've all seen the two new (and hopefully final) trailers for Prometheus and The Dark Knight Rises. If you haven't then watch them below right now you demented sadists! But what I want to know is if you could only see one of these films in the cinema this summer, then which would it be?

Please cast your vote below. I think I have to go with Prometheus but it makes me weep to think I have to choose. Why am doing this to you? I don't know. But I look forward to reading your responses.

Pete, I am going with Prometheus as well. Now if the Dark Knight was fighting The Mad Hatter along with Tweedledum and Tweedledee it might be a differnt story.
ReplyDeleteWell that would certainly take Dark Knight into some interesting new territory. I guess Tim Burton would have to return to directing?
DeleteHmmm. I'm not entirely sold on Prometheus - why does Scott feel he NEEDS to go back to the Alien universe? - but I've wanted to see Batman vs Bane since I read Knighfall. So for me, the more personal decision is TDKR.
ReplyDeleteWow seriously? Maybe two years ago I would have said the same but since all this marketing has worked it's magic on me, I can see exactly why Scott wanted to do this!
DeleteI'll be seeing both but I think my money is w/ TDKR. I mean that last trailer just looks EPIC!!
ReplyDeleteEpic is definitely the right word for it. It's going to be a great summer for blockbusters with these two alone!
DeleteTDKR is going to be awesome but I think Prometheus has more potential to be really great. I'll go with Prometheus!
ReplyDeleteThat puts it at a draw of 2 to both. I'm not surprised as this is probably too close to call!
DeleteFECKING FECK... Another tough choice... you meany.
ReplyDeleteI am going to say Prometheus..... then I will dress up in drag and pretend to be my wife and see TDKR... mahahahaha
Genius! Problem solved!
Delete" mahahahaha"???
DeleteFeck you matey!!
You're cruel making us choose just one, but I'll go for TDKR.
ReplyDeleteI know it burns my heart to choose just one and I'm not sure of the point of putting you through this but I'm interested to hear peoples thoughts!

ReplyDeleteEasy decision for me as I'm not a big fan of The Dark Knight as if it was not for Ledger's quite brilliant performance it would not get the same attention it does.
ReplyDeletePrometheus it is.
Another one for Prometheus! Though I hope Nolan's Bat films would still be held in high regard despite Ledger.
DeleteGood question...I'm terrible at predictions, there is the possibility both movies will be average?
ReplyDeleteRidley Scott has not made a great movie in my estimation for a while(plus its a prequel and they often are not as good as the originals) , and how could Nolan improve on The Dark Knight...
Prometheus has my vote, because Ridley Scott is good with sci-fi.
Average, Nooooo I see your points but I'm hoping both of these live up to the hype!
Deletehaha Nooooo! sounded like Darth Vader in that prequel scene!
DeleteI hope both of these live up to the hype as well (-:
Prometheus. I'm not even planning watch TDKR in theatres, to be honest.
ReplyDeleteNo way! I knew you'd go with Prometheus but I am surprised you're not going to see both as quick as possible!
DeletePrometheus all the way. Even if the nest Batman movie is any good, i've got to say that I'd rather see an original(ish) alien movie than a third installment of a series that I only kind of like. Also the fact that the Batman movie is a superhero flick kind of just makes me want to pick the alien one on principle.
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for the alien over the bat! Thanks for playing along!
Delete...great question and one I find it difficult to answer. I'm looking forward to both so much but because I've been an Alien fan for so long I'd have to say Prometheus is THE one to see for me.
ReplyDeleteWow who would have thought that a film could be more anticipated than TDKR.
DeleteI know...but I've never had the same affinity to Batman as I have Alien. That said, these new Batman's are a different kettle of fish!
DeleteYeah definitely well said! Prometheus just looks so fascinating and thrilling, it's even more exciting than seeing how Nolan wraps up the Bat.
DeleteIt's certainly tough, but I am giving the edge to Prometheus. Personally, I am not a fan of Bane as a character (as much as I love Tom Hardy), which may be the ultimate deciding factor. Both films look great, though.
ReplyDeleteYeah Bane's certainly going to have his work cut out to have as big an impact as Ledger's Joker!
DeleteAND THE CORRECT ANSWER IS........
ReplyDeleteThe Dark Knight Rises!
haha Prometheus is leading though!
DeleteYou sir are a harsh gentleman! Both look absolutely stunning. Prometheus for being a solid looking sci-fi horror that'll bring us back to the Alien days... possibly not in story, but at least in vibe!
ReplyDeleteTDKR is going to be one epic conclusion to one of the best comic book franchises ever. There's also a nice amount of JGL in that trailer.
Seeing as I'd be happy with whichever wins and looks like Prometheus is winning at the mo, I'll give TDKR a bump!
Ooooh controversial! I keep thinking this is just a bit of fun and then I break out in sweats thinking 'what if someone actually forced me to make this choice???'
DeleteThe short answer is The Dark Knight Rises, but damn, that ain't no easy call. Superheroes movies are arguably my least favorite kinds of films, and the fact that I love Batman Begins and The Dark Knight makes TDNR a must see for me. Great question though.
ReplyDeleteYeah both are definitely must-sees, I'm starting to think Scott's answer may be the only sensible course of action!
DeleteMy anticipation radar is easily more toward Prometheus right now. The trailers for TDKR have done nothing for me and the prologue that was shown in IMAX theaters last year turned me off. I'll see both, but I'm more excited for Prometheus.
ReplyDeleteOoh that's interesting. Apart from the Bane mumbling issue, I heard only very positive things about the prologue. I'm looking forward to seeing it but yep I'm also in the Prometheus camp!
DeleteI'm going with The Dark Knight Rises. I am sure that the visuals will be fantastic in both, but the Alien franchise is a bit too gory for me to "enjoy" without half covering my eyes (thinking of that stomach scene in particular).
ReplyDeleteYeah I think Prometheus might be pretty disturbing no matter what rating they give it!
DeleteThis is indeed not easy, but I HAVE to choose The Dark Knight Rises. The epic conclusion must win this poll!
ReplyDeleteFair play I'm going to have to do a recount one of these days!
