Call for TV news and reviews writers! Get Paid to Write!

Hello again! As the new TV Editor at Filmoria, I am looking to expand our team of dedicated TV writers. What we need is people who want to cover news and weekly episode reviews of some of the biggest shows on television as they hit screens in the UK. We already have writers covering episode reviews for Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Bates Motel but we always need more people to cover the latest news and to write features on all of these shows and more. Here is the full list of shows we need covering in terms of news, features and episode reviews:

Doctor Who
Hannibal
Downton Abbey
Homeland
Sherlock
True Detective
House of Cards
24: Live Another Day
Sleepy Hollow
Girls
Veep
Arrow
Vikings
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Sons of Anarchy
The Following
The Americans
American Horror Story
Boardwalk Empire
Elementary
Mad Men
From Dusk til Dawn
Person of Interest
Hemlock Grove
Fargo
Da Vinci’s Demons
Penny Dreadful
Under the Dome
Peaky Blinders
Broadchurch
The Good Wife
Parks and Recreation
Scandal
Gotham

Surely one of these must spark your interest. Did I mention that you will also get paid to write at Filmoria? There is a performance pay scheme that basically works out like this:

You will earn £0.05 per article that you write and publish for every 100 unique page visits, within the first 30 days of being published, with no upper limit threshold.
    • 1000 unique page views = £0.50
    • 10,000 unique page views = £5.00
    • 100,000 unique page views = £50.00
    • 100,000,000 unique page views = £500.00

It might not be much at the moment but as the site grows, we hope to see our page views and income rise. The more you write and the more our audience reads it, the more you earn! News stories should be around 400 words and features and reviews around 700 words.

If you are interested, please contact me on peter@filmoria.co.uk and send me a few links to your published work. Feel free to check out Filmoria and see what you think!

More Walking Dead Season 4 News and Reviews

The Walking Dead climaxed this week with episode 8 of the fourth season. That means fans have to wait till February for more walker action and to find out what happens next. Here are my reviews of the season so far:

The Walking Dead: A sickness is spreading (Episode 1 Review)
The Walking Dead: A virus in the cells (Episode 2 Review)
The Walking Dead: Bring Out Your Dead (Episode 3 Review)
The Walking Dead: What comes next for Carol the killer? (Episode 4 Review)
The Walking Dead: Walkers breach the fences (Episode 5 Review)

The final few episodes of the season brought The Governor right back into the action and led to a stunning conclusion with all hell breaking loose at the prison. I really liked that our heroes had finally found a decent home but now it looks like it will be time to move on. The possibilities for the rest of the season will be endless and I am very excited to see where it is heading now. Here are the rest of the reviews of the first half of season 4 and also one news story I wrote for Yahoo.

Frank Darabont on what went wrong with The Walking Dead
It has been a long time coming but Frank Darabont, director of the pilot episode of 'The Walking Dead' has finally spoken out on what occurred and why he had to leave the show, despite finding it devastating to move on.
The Walking Dead recap: Live Bait
This is my review of episode 6. After five episodes of wondering where the big bad wolf has been lurking, The Governor finally returns in an episode entirely devoted to filling in his absence from season four so far.

The Walking Dead recap: Your move 'Brian'

This is my review of episode 7. In the latest episode of 'The Walking Dead', the pieces are moving into place. There are knights and pawns and one Governor who does not know exactly where he fits but is determined to be the last piece standing on the board.

The Walking Dead recap: Prison break

This is my review of episode 8. It was a truly explosive episode of 'The Walking Dead' this week so do not read this review until after you have watched 'Too Far Gone', the final instalment in the first half of season four.

Where do you think The Walking Dead will go from here?

Latest Homeland News and Reviews

Complementing the constant stream of news and reviews I provide at Yahoo on both The Walking Dead and the Fast and Furious franchise, I'm also still dishing the goods on Homeland which after a slow and dodgy start to its third season, is really starting to pick up speed and momentum now.

Homeland: Carrie plays a dangerous game
This is my episode of episode 5 of season 3. After last week's episode dropped an enormous game changing bombshell in the final few minutes, 'The Yoga Play' takes season 3 of 'Homeland' in a far more exciting direction than what had come before. If you hadn't been convinced by the season so far, this gives fans a reason to get back on board.

Claire Danes talks starring in Homeland and the joys of TV
Television has changed dramatically since Claire Danes first started and 'Homeland' has become her new home on the small screen. She talks about the joys of playing Carrie over three years and how TV is different to working in film. Much of this article was sourced from an interview that Dutin Hoffman conducted with the star. Yeah... that Dustin Hoffman!
Claire Danes on playing bi-polar Homeland hero Carrie Mathison
Claire Danes is perfect as the CIA agent struggling not only with catching terrorists in 'Homeland' but also constantly at risk of serious debilitating health issues. But how does she feel about playing someone with a real condition?

Homeland recap: surrender, revenge and Carrie's unexpected surprise
This is my review of episode 6 of season 3. When Quinn says 'this is just the beginning' at the end of the latest episode of 'Homeland', it feels as though he is talking about the season as a whole. Carrie and Saul's motivations are now clear and the old familiar 'Homeland' is now back on track.

Homeland recap: Coming clean, confession and Quinn grows a conscience
This is my review of episode 7 of season 3. Still no sign of Brody but at least no Dana this time! With season three starting so terribly both for the characters of 'Homeland' and many would argue for fans of the show, things are definitely looking up for everybody in the latest episode 'Gerontion'.

Are you still watching 'Homeland'? How do you feel about season 3 so far?

Latest Fast and Furious 7 News

Fast and Furious 7 news continues to come thick and fast with Universal's cash cow picking up speed as production begins to move from Atlanta to Abu Dhabi over the coming months. Over the last week, I have been writing frequently for Yahoo about the franchise including what ex-director Justin Lin is tackling next, the stills that have been released from the set and more details about the role Kurt Russell will be playing in Fast and Furious 7. Please click the titles to check out the full stories:

Fast and Furious ex-director Justin Lin races off to Bourne Legacy sequel
After tackling the last four entries in the series, fans were left disappointed when director Justin Lin decided not to return to the 'Fast and Furious' franchise for his fifth entry. Now Lin has found a new franchise to steer towards success with The Bourne Legacy. He will be directing the sequel that will star Jeremy Renner again.

New Fast and Furious 7 still shows Vin Diesel in Bond mode
The man never stops. Not a week goes by without Mr Diesel sharing another photo. Vin Diesel posted this on his Facebook account and it shows his returning character Dominic Toretto dressed in a tuxedo opposite stunning new star Ronda Rousey.

New Fast and Furious 7 picture features Vin Diesel and a familiar Dodge Charger
The star and his bag, bad car. A new still from the set of 'Fast and Furious 7' shows Vin Diesel's fan favourite character Dominic Toretto reunited with the Dodge Charger that has featured in numerous previous entries of the franchise.
Paul Walker spills details on Kurt Russell's character in Fast and Furious 7
'Fast and Furious 7' star Paul Walker has been speaking to MTV about the latest instalment in the fast car franchise and has let slip some juicy details on the character that Kurt Russell will be playing. I smell a rat but it's still interesting to hear what Walker has to say.

Latest news, videos and pics from Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Catching Fire is heating up ahead of the November 21st release date and I am lucky enough to be catching a preview screening tomorrow night in London for Starburst Magazine. While I was not the world's biggest fan of the first film, I did love the first and second books in Suzanne Collins' trilogy. I'm also not a huge fan of new director Francis Lawrence either and I think its a real shame that Lionsgate will always push for a 12A rating on these films to maximise their box office potential.

However that is all neither here nor there when it came to seeing the trailers for Catching Fire as I'm now almost as excited as any other Hunger Games uber-fans. Like many others, I'm a little in love with J-Law after her slapstick stunt at the Oscars and constant cute outbursts in interviews. If you've seen Winter's Bone then you would have known immediately this is the perfect girl to play Katniss and she did a fantastic job in the first film.

At least Catching Fire was delivered to the BBFC and got the 12A immediately without having to make any compromising cuts this time. On the other hand some might argue a few cuts might be welcome in a film that is going to be released with a bum numbing running time of 146 minutes. Still if I had my way, a film about a gladiatorial style fight to the death between teenagers would get a 15 or 18 rating on premise alone. Then the filmmakers would be free to go wild with the blood, guts and carnage.

Empire Magazine have a tantalizing new clip and the Facebook page is full of lovely pictures from the film. Oh and Twitter went nuts yesterday because J-Law has appeared with a new haircut so I though I'd share it for those of you interested in such things. Should provide a great bit of free publicity for promoting Catching Fire.

My review will be up on the Starburst Magazine website as soon as the embargo is lifted and will also hopefully be included in the print edition of the magazine asap.

Do you care about Jennifer Lawrence's haircut?

Fast and Furious 7, fighting and Tony Jaa

With 9 months still to wait until the world gets the next Fast and Furious movie, it is amazing how many 'news' stories there are to pick up for those interested. No matter what you think of the films, you have to hand it to Vin Diesel, he knows how to interact with fans and keep them excited for his upcoming projects. Not only is he still busy releasing stills and videos from the set, he's now even looking ahead at his role in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Here are the news stories I've been writing for Yahoo on Fast and Furious 7 recently:

Filled with speculation, this is me taking a guess at what Tony Jaa will be doing in the upcoming film. He  might be having a ball on the 'Fast and Furious 7' set, hanging out with all the stars but all the evidence so far suggests to me that he will be taking a villainous role.

Another example of Diesel keeping his fans in the loop, he has unveiled a short video from the set of Fast & Furious 7 to celebrate his Facebook page reaching the 50 million fan mark. It features some sweet moves from Jaa and Diesel desperately trying to keep up with the martial artist.

Rumours that MMA star Ronda Rousey would be appearing in 'Fast and Furious 7' have been doing the rounds for ages but Rousey has now officially confirmed she will be appearing in the sequel. Let's hope she kicks even more ass than Gina Carano in the last film.

Just in case all this interaction between the stars and fans is not enough, games developer Kabam have announced that 'Fast and Furious 7' will not only be a hotly anticipated film but also a game for fans to play on their mobiles everywhere. Get behind the wheel and pretend you are the star of the movie!

'Fast and Furious 7' will be many things to many expectant fans but right now it is an economic juggernaut for the city of Salida in Colorado. I found this fascinating how much a film can help the locals. Hooray for Hollywood film productions!

Any of these news stories tickle your fancy or are you just bored sick of hearing about Fast and Furious 7 already?
